Certainly they have a UK office, indeed they have a few offices scattered around the world, and when you go to their website they have a drop down box which takes you to a “local” version of their website.

But from what I can see JustHost host everything in the US. There is nothing wrong with this, indeed it’s one reason why their hosting prices are so low. Colocation and Dedicated Server costs in say London would be almost double. This makes it very difficult for UK hosts to compete (and why they invariably have to charge more).

If you are just looking for cheap hosting, then where the servers are plugged in might not concern you, but note that if your customers are based in the UK, loading times from the US will be slightly slower due to the increased latency.

The JustHost data centre is situated in the Chicago, Illinois area and is connected over multiple transit links to high capacity backbones. The latency from a UK broadband connection isn’t that bad. A ping test to web11.justhost.com revealed a 116 ms ping time. Very acceptable for the UK and on a par with say HostGator, another popular budget web host.

Traceroutes from various locations showed connectivity being provided by two different providers, namely above.net and nlayer.net However technical and billing support will almost certainly be local to you.
